πŸ§’ Kids Catechism Series – Week 12: What Happened After Jesus Died?

Series Title: Knowing God for Kids
Topic: Jesus rose from the dead. He is alive and gives us hope of eternal life.
Key Verse: Matthew 28:6 — “He is not here, for He has risen, as He said.”

✨ Today’s Big Question

Q: What happened after Jesus died?
A: Jesus rose from the dead. He is alive forever!

πŸ“– Learn Through a Story

Teacher: “Have you ever seen something amazing happen that no one believed at first?”
Children: “I saw a butterfly come out of a cocoon!” “My balloon flew up and never came down!”

After Jesus died, His friends were very sad. They thought it was the end.
But on the third day, something amazing happened—Jesus came back to life!

The tomb was empty. Angels told the women, “He is not here—He is risen!”
Jesus showed Himself to His disciples and hundreds of people.

Because Jesus is alive, we know He has power over sin and death, and we can have new life with Him forever!

🧠 Let’s Remember

  • Jesus rose from the dead.

  • He is alive forever.

  • We can live with Him now and always.

🎨 Activity Ideas

  1. Empty Tomb Craft – Use paper plates or clay to show the stone rolled away and Jesus risen.

  2. Resurrection Garden – Plant a small pot with a cross and “tomb” to watch new life grow.

  3. Alive! Skit or Song – Act out or sing about Jesus rising from the grave.

πŸ™ Prayer Time

“Dear Jesus, thank You for rising again and giving me hope.
Help me remember You are always alive and with me. Amen.”

✍️ Notes for Parents & Teachers

This week celebrates the resurrection of Jesus—the foundation of our hope.
Explain to children that Jesus' resurrection proves He is God and that death is not the end.
This is a week for joyful celebration and confidence in the eternal life Jesus offers.
